Hugh Ross is an astronomer and founder and president of Reasons to Believe, an organization dedicated to demonstrating the compatibility of science and Christianity. Hugh earned a BS in physics from the University of British Columbia and an MS and PhD in astronomy from the University of Toronto.
For several years, he continued his research on quasars and galaxies as a postdoctoral fellow at the California Institute of Technology. While in college, he dedicated himself to faith in Christ following an in-depth study of Scripture that convinced him of the Bible’s factual accuracy.
Prompted by family, friends, and colleagues, Hugh founded Reasons to Believe in 1986, to bring scientific evidence for Christianity to light. Today, Hugh is the author of multiple books—including Improbable Planet, Navigating Genesis, and Why the Universe Is the Way It Is—and speaks on science-faith issues to audiences around the world.
